Peta and her amazing Mum, Kate, who fought tirelessly to do the very best for Peta, never giving up hope. Peta had so much love for her Mum and could not have asked for a better, more loving and supportive mother than Kate. Jan 2019

Peta with her athletics coach, Jay Stone. Not only is Jay a brilliant athletics coach but he is an outstanding person, he was an incredible support to Peta and her family throughout her illness. Jay's visits meant a great deal to Peta and his fundraising allowed the purchase of equipment which allowed Peta to maintain a level of fitness and helped with her paraplegia. He instigated an annual memorial charity race for Peta and continued to support her family.

Peta and Leisa Swanson, her fantastic teacher at the John Hunter Hospital School. Leisa helped Peta with the Tildy stories as well as the rest of her school work, challenging her but also sensitive to medical needs and how she was feeling. She went above and beyond, always brightened our days in hospital and was a wonderful support for the whole family. Dec 2018

Peta and her older sister, Willa. Peta adored her big sister and the two were always very close. Willa travelled back from the UK (having just been in Australia for a visit) and deferred her final year of university to be with Peta. Her presence made Peta's days brighter and brought extra love and laughter to those last 6 months of confinement to hospital bed and wheelchair. She shared in Peta's care and nursing and gave immeasurable support to her Mum, who feels she could not have coped without her. Jan 2019

Peta and her foal, Hope, who was born after Peta's diagnosis and her name was inspired by Peta's illness. Peta looked forward to breaking her in with her Mum. Kate has since broken her in alone, she is now a beautiful, much loved 3 year old that Peta would be so proud of.
